Sembawang Infrastructure India Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sembawang Engineering and Construction of Singapore, has bagged the order for construction of an IT tower at a cost of Rs 50 crore in the special economic zone (SEZ) of Lanco Hills Technology Park Private Limited.

Lanco Hills, a part of the Hyderabad-based Lanco Group, is a mega project coming up on 108 acres in the city, which includes an IT park, residential towers, mall, multiplex, hotels, recreation and other amenities. The project has both SEZ and non-SEZ areas.

"We are developing 8 million sft of office space in our IT park spread over 12 towers of SEZ and non-SEZ areas. Of this, the first non-SEZ tower with 400,000 sft is already under construction and expected to be ready in a year. The first SEZ tower with 30 floors will have 900,000 sft of office space and the work order has been given to Sembawang. We expect the work to start in a month's time," Pochendar, Lanco Hills chief executive officer, stated in a press release here on Monday.

According to Sembawang managing director JD Stuart Macaskie, the entire IT park project at Lanco Hills involves a total of 12 towers and the work order for the first SEZ tower marks an important milestone for future orders in this project.
