Tejas Networks ups R&D operations

Tejas Networks, a provider of optical transmission infrastructure, has opened a new R&D center in Noida, the first by the company in north India.

The Noida R&D center will be headed by Pushkal Juneja, Group Director Engineering, who joined Tejas Networks earlier from Intel where he managed teams working on design and validation of various chipsets.

According to Tejas, the centre will focus on developing next generation telecom equipment and software.

“So far we have been making significant investments in our Bangalore R&D center. We have now also decided to reach out to the outstanding engineering talent in North India, who are keen to do innovative work in end-to-end product development companies”, said Sanjay Nayak, CEO and MD, Tejas Networks.

The home-grown telecom product company promoted by Gururaj Deshpande, Tejas Network is planning to come out with an initial public offering before the end of this year.

The company had reported a turnover of Rs 235 crore in the fiscal 2006-07, 75 per cent rise over the previous fiscal.
