 "Asia Cup 2023 Points Table: India at top in Super4 despite Bangladesh loss")
India remained at the top of the Asia Cup Super4 Points Table despite its six-run loss to Bangladesh in the last match at this stage in the Asia Cup 2023. This was Team India's first-ever loss in the tournament while it was the first Super4 win for Bangladesh. Courtesy of this victory the Shakib Al Hasan-led side moved to the third position in the points table pushing Pakistan to the fourth.
Both India and Sri Lanka have the same number of points, but it is by virtue of a better net run rate that Indi managed to keep the numero uno position in its hold.
In the tournament's penultimate Super4 game, which was also a virtual semi-final, Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by two wickets on the very last ball of the game.
Earlier India had beaten Pakistan by 228 runs in their Super4 opener to get to the top of the points table. Sri Lanka and Pakistan both beat Bangladesh.
Bangladesh were already out of Asia Cup 2023 after losing the first two games in the Super4 stage, first against Pakistan and then against Sri Lanka.
