A Fly91 flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru due to adverse weather conditions, with airport officials maintaining that all passengers were safe. The incident caused panic among the passengers as the aircraft remained airborne for three hours on Sunday. Some of the scared passengers were in tears and started praying for their safety. The flight, which departed Hyderabad at around 3.30 pm, was scheduled to land in Hubballi at about 4.30 pm but was unable to do so due to unfavourable weather, sources said. "Due to bad weather, the flight from Hyderabad to Hubballi was diverted to Bengaluru," an airport official said, adding that such diversions are a standard safety measure. According to the official, the aircraft hovered over Hubballi for about an hour in anticipation of improvement in weather conditions before being diverted. "This is general practice. As many as 13 flights from Middle East countries to Hyderabad were cancelled on Tuesday following the ongoing conflict there, airport sources said. The sources further said 12 flights scheduled for leave to various countries in the Middle East were also cancelled. "Thirteen flights from the Middle East to Hyderabad were cancelled today. Similarly, 12 flights that should have left for the Middle East were also cancelled," sources told PTI. Social media is flooded with confused travellers seeking updates on the status of their flights. "I have a flight from Hyderabad to Kuwait and Kuwait to New York. Booking reference: AI6CP4. In yet another incident of stray dog killings, nearly 100 canines were allegedly "poisoned to death" in Yacharam village near here following which a case was registered against a sarpanch and two others for their alleged involvement in the act, police said on Wednesday. The fresh incident follows killing of nearly 500 stray dogs in different districts of Telangana since January 6. An animal welfare activist, associated with Stray Animal Foundation of India, in a complaint filed with Yacharam Police Station alleged that the dogs were injected with some poisonous substances on January 19. A case was registered under relevant sections of BNS and Prevention of Cruelty of Animals Act against the sarpanch, secretary and ward member of Yacharam gram panchayat on Tuesday, a police official said. French multinational personal care corporation L'Oral is expected to inaugurate its Global Capability Centre (GCC) in November this year, official sources said on Wednesday. The beauty tech company will be investing Rs 3500 crore ( 350 million Euros) by 2030 and will create 2,000 highly skilled advanced tech jobs, including AI specialists, tech engineers, and data scientists and will accelerate the delivery of state-of-the-art, AI-powered beauty solutions at scale, an official release said. Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Monday said it has bagged a "significant" order for the Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road project. The contract, awarded to L&T's transportation infrastructure business vertical, covers the second phase of the project in Ranga Reddy district. L&T classifies an order amount ranging between Rs 1,000 cr to Rs 2,500 cr as 'significant'. It involves the construction of a "22.3 km 3+3 lane access-controlled radial road" to boost connectivity in the region, L&T said in a filing to BSE. The Hyderabad Greenfield Radial Road phase-2 holds strategic importance as the first radial connector linking Hyderabad's outer ring road to the proposed 340-km regional ring road , enhancing regional connectivity. It will improve access to key growth hubs like IT corridors and electronic city, driving economic development in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district. The death toll in the helium cylinder blast that occurred near the Mysuru Palace has risen to three, police said on Saturday. Lakshmi (29), a resident of Kamakshipalya in Bengaluru, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment in KR Hospital, taking the toll to three, late on Friday, police officials said. She had suffered grievous injuries in the blast, including severe abdominal trauma, and despite intensive treatment, she could not be saved," a senior police officer said. Lakshmi was the wife of Rajesh, an auto-rickshaw driver in Bengaluru. Rajesh is originally a resident of Hosahalli village in Mandya district. He said the Telangana police initiated an inquiry after the address mentioned in Sajid Akram's Indian passport was traced to Hyderabad. During the inquiry, police found that Akram was born in Hyderabad and visited the city for the first time in October 2000 after migrating abroad in 1998 for education and employment. He was accompanied by his European wife during that visit. He later visited Hyderabad in 2004 and again in February 2009, following his father's death, though the visit was not for attending the funeral, the DGP said.
