Mahim in central Mumbai: Triangular contest between Sena (UBT)'s Mahesh Sawant, Shiv Sena's Sada Sarvankar and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's Amit Thackeray, son of MNS chief Raj Thackeray. Amit Thackeray is making his electoral debut. Very important constituency as it includes Shivaji Park, the birthplace of the Shiv Sena 58 years ago. Hence, the seat is very close to heart for both Senas and Thackeray clan. Marathi-speaking population is a large percentage of its voters. In the 2014 and 2019 elections, Sada Sarvankar emerged victorious from this Shiv Sena stronghold. The MNS won in 2009 by Raj Thackeray, now his son will fight.
