Akasa Air plans flights to Singapore, Vietnam, Kazakhstan: Airline CCO

Akasa Air will plan flights to various overseas destinations, including Singapore, Vietnam and Kazakhstan, as it gets new planes and Boeing aircraft deliveries are expected to be faster, a senior airline official said on Monday. Akasa Air's Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer Praveen Iyer said the airline will also look at the option of starting services to China. "We don't have (bilateral flying) rights for China now, but we will consider them in the future". The more than three-year-old airline, which is loss-making, currently has a fleet of 30 planes and flies to 24 domestic and 6 international destinations. It has been facing delays in aircraft deliveries. At a briefing in the national capital, Iyer said it will very soon start international flights from Delhi and the airline is also looking forward to start services from the upcoming Jewar airport in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, the airline has 24 daily departures from Delhi. The airline has a firm order for a total of 226 .

Singapore tourism board partners with IndiGo to boost India travel

The Singapore Tourism Board has signed an initial pact with domestic carrier IndiGo to boost tourism and travel between the two countries, a statement said on Thursday. Under the year-long strategic pact, the two partners will promote the island-city nation as a leading leisure and business destination for Indian travellers and boost bookings through the airline's extensive network, it said. SIA to invest additional Rs 3,195 cr in Air India after Vistara merger

Singapore Airlines will make an additional investment of Rs 3,194.5 crore in Tata Group-owned Air India post-merger of Vistara in November. The merger, announced on November 29, 2022, and set to be completed on November 11, 2024, will result in Singapore Airlines having a 25.1 per cent stake in the enlarged Air India. Air India, SIA expand codeshare agreement; add 40 int'l, 11 Indian cities

Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have agreed to expand their codeshare agreement, adding 11 Indian cities and another 40 international destinations to their network. This marks the first extensive expansion of codeshare arrangements between the airlines since 2010, offering customers enhanced travel options between Singapore and India, as well as beyond. SIA passengers endured 62 sec of extreme turbulence on May 21 flight

The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Flight SQ321 that was rocked by severe turbulence on Tuesday climbed and descended rapidly twice in 62 seconds, stunning the passengers with one dying of heart attack, as the aircraft flew over the Irrawaddy Delta region of Myanmar, it emerged on Saturday. 22 suffer spinal cord injuries, 6 head trauma on S'pore Airlines flight

Twenty-two passengers from a Singapore Airlines flight that was hit by turbulence May 21, have spinal cord injuries and six have brain and skull injuries, according to media reports. Singapore Airlines on Tuesday said the proposed merger of Air India and Vistara "remains on course" and is subject to approvals from regulators as well as competition authorities in several jurisdictions.
