In a letter to the state IT department, Accenture has sought the details of the terms of reference of the apex committee on skill development currently in place.
Accenture had inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government for developing a roadmap on skill development that will help the state attract investment in IT and ITes (IT enabled services) sectors.
The global technology and consultancy firm will develop and commission five pilot mobile governance applications on specific areas identified by the state government without any financial commitment from Odisha.
In addition, a team from Accenture is likely to visit the state to share their learning on the mobile governance projects implemented in Maharashtra.
The MoU was signed in May between M S Padhi, state IT secretary and Krishna Giri, managing director, Accenture Services Ltd in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Abinash Basisth, chairman of the company.
Accenture had expressed its intention for a mutually beneficial tie-up with the state government in areas like policy framework, research and solutions in the field of innovation and technology, solution management, outsourcing and skill promotion. Accenture will also explore the possibility of establishment of a state technology resource centre.
The company has invited the officials from the state to visit its technology research lab located in Bangalore for showcasing the innovations it has developed in the areas relevant to its engagement with the state government.
Last month, Sanjeev Gupta, managing director, Accenture Services had met state IT secretary and discussed in detail on the follow up actions needed to be taken by the company and the state government.
