Compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped natural gas (PNG) prices have been increased in Indore from June 21, said supplying company officials.
With this increase, CNG price in Indore will be Rs 67 per kg, up Rs 3 from previous rate. "Strengthening dollar against the rupee has led to the rise in prices," said an official from Avantika Gas Limited, which is the authorised suppliers of the CNG and PNG in the city.
Commercially used piped natural gas (PNG) prices will also go up by Rs 2 per unit to Rs 47 per standard cubic meters (scm). PNG (industrial) rates have been increased to Rs 38 per scm from previous Rs 36.
