The sharp run up in the stock price of United Spirits spells trouble for British liquor major Diageo. Last month, the company had announced that it was acquiring a 27% stake in Vijay Mallya's United Spirits at Rs 1,440 per share. The company had envisaged getting control of another 26% through the open offer.
