Improving fundamentals in the US, which is the biggest market for domestic information technology companies, seems to be prompting companies to hire college graduates, and Infosys is one of them.
The Bengaluru-based company, which is trying to get back on growth track, is in the process of recruiting 15,000-16,000 graduates next fiscal, executive chairman Narayana Murthy said today. He was speaking to the students of Vivekanand Education Society in Mumbai.
Murthy however, did not give the overall hiring target of the company for the next fiscal, which would include lateral hires too.
These hiring figure remains just a little more than half of what Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s biggest IT software services exporter, has planned for the coming year. TCS has stated that it would be recruiting 25,000 freshers in 2014-15 (Apr-Mar).
