Country's largest mobile operator in terms of subscriber base, Bharti Airtel today said mobile tariffs are likely to fall further with competition growing in the industry.

"Indian tariffs are already the lowest in the world... Competition will grow...They (tariff) will probably fall further," Bharti Enterprises Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal said. Bharti Enterprises owns Bharti Airtel.

He was speaking at a function organised by Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, where he was conferred the 10th Lal Bahadur Shastri National Award for Excellence in Public Administration, Academic and Management 2009.

Indian mobile tariffs have touched a level where only of half a paisa is charged for a second. Airtel has sought telecom regulator TRAI's price intervention, saying the present tariff regime as 'predatory pricing'.
