E-commerce major Flipkart might have booked a record performance during its 'Big Billion Day' sale on Monday, but its online fashion retail arm, Myntra, has no plans of holding a similar single-day event. Instead, it plans to spread its discounts and offers over a few weeks in the run-up to Diwali. In an interview with Business Standard last week, Myntra's chief executive officer Mukesh Bansal said the company would take a different approach and that it would not opt for a one-day sale. "Our focus will be to help people dress better on Diwali," Bansal had said.
While Myntra appeared to have joined the e-commerce war with advertisements about a "cracker of a sale" in Tuesday's newspapers, a company spokesperson said: "This is not a single-day event, we will have more such sales in the coming days."
