Car maker Nissan Motor India today announced a major reshuffle in top level management of the company as well as in its joint venture with French auto major Renault.
As per the rejig, Renault Japon Chief Operating Officer Kiminobu Tokuyama has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Nissan Motor India (NMIPL) with effect from January 1 next year, NMIPL said in a statement.
NMIPL has also appointed its current Managing Director Shohei Kimura as the Chief Executive Officer of the company effective from January, 2009.
"Kimura will supervise the total Indian business, including the Renault Nissan Automobile India project, which he is currently responsible for as MD," the statement said.
Tokuyama would be replaced by Nissan Prince Tokyo Chief Operating Officer Tsukasa Daigoku, it added.
"India is one of the most important markets for Nissan and I believe we have set a solid organisation to accelerate our Indian projects. I am confident that both Kimura and Tokuyama will provide the strong leadership needed for our business success," NMIPL Senior Vice-President and Chairman (Management Committee - General Overseas Market) Colin Dodge said.
