Reliance Cement, a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure, today launched commercial operations in Amravati, in Maharashtra.
The company started its operations in September, last year from Nagpur.
“Soon, we will be entering areas such as Wardha, Chandrapur and Bhandara. All our business processes like manufacturing, sales and distribution, and customer service are fully automated and geared,” said Arvind Pathak, chief executive officer of Reliance Cement.

Cement grinding unit, situated in Butibori will supply to both these markets. The company is also setting up integrated cement manufacturing plants in Maharashtra as well as Madhya Pradesh, both of which have 10 million tonnes capacity combined.
These plants will use fly ash produced by power plants of its sister company, Reliance Power. RPower is already operating Butibori power plant in Maharashtra, while its Sasan ultra mega power project also commissioned its first unit in Madhya Pradesh, recently.
“Vidarbha is a key market for us and we are happy to expand our distribution network in the region. We are already being counted amongst the leading players in Nagpur in a short span of six months,” said Pathak.
