 "Travel portal Cleartrip makes inroads in Lucknow")
Travel portal Cleartrip has witnessed over 460 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in hotel bookings made through its cell phone platform Cleartrip Mobile from Lucknow.
Similarly, air bookings from Lucknow have seen 82 percent growth, Cleartrip chief revenue officer Amit Taneja said here today.
According to its analysis of mobile travel behaviour in Lucknow, mobile bookings from the city have seen a 168 percent y-o-y growth, he informed.
Against the average of 52 percent of people using mobile phone for transacting with Cleartrip, the Lucknow average is much higher at 67 percent.
He said Lucknow was amongst the top 15 places in India for Cleartrip's clientele. Lucknow accounts for roughly 2 percent of its gross sales.
"With the metro cities almost reaching the saturation points, the smaller towns would continue to grow for Cleartrip as people adopt newer technologies, earn more disposable incomes and start to explore newer travel destinations," Taneja added.
