Uttam Galva Steels today reported 8.34% jump in net profit at Rs 11.95 crore for the third quarter ended December 2012 on improved sales.
The company had reported a Rs 11.03 crore net profit in the October-December quarter last fiscal.
Its net sales increased to Rs 1,460.54 crore during the quarter under review from Rs 1,105.31 crore in the corresponding period of the fiscal 2011-12, it said in a BSE filing.

The company's total expenditure during the October- December quarter of the current fiscal increased to Rs 1,352.48 crore from Rs 1018.40 in October-December quarter during the last fiscal.
The steel maker consumed raw material worth Rs 895 crore during the quarter against Rs 784 crore during October-December 2012.
Shares of the company ended at Rs 91 apiece, down 7.94% from their previous close on the BSE today.
