The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) president in exile N Srinivasan admitted in the Supreme Court today that he should not have attended the meeting of the Tamil Nadu cricket association while he was suspended.
In the hearing proceedings today, the SC had objected to Srinivasan attending Tamil Nadu cricket association meetings despite stepping aside as cricket administrator.
The Supreme Court has asked the BCCI to take immediate action against Gurunath Meiyappan, son-in-law of Srinivasan and a team official of the Chennai Super Kings.

The Mudgal Committee report, which was submitted in the apex court last month, found Meiyappan guilty of betting and match fixing. It also asked Srinivasan to stay away from the panel that takes action against Meiyappan.
On December 8, the apex court stood firm on it’s observation that it was difficult to accept that Srinivasan did not have conflict of interest since he was the president of the BCCI and the owner of the Indian Premier League franchise the Chennai Super Kings.
The observations of the SC follow the submission of the probe report carried out by the Mudgal Committee, which was appoint by the apex court earlier this year for the purpose.
According to the report, while Srinivasan has not been found guilty of match fixing or betting, he has been found to have conflict of interest in the matter. Late last month, the apex court revealed the names of the officials investigated in the matter, and asked them to file their responses (to the report).
