Trump would be visiting Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata, and look at projects his organisation and various Indian real estate firms are jointly developing.
Sources said his entourage of roughly 50, including sleuths from the US Secret Service, and he landed in a private jet on Monday. He would be staying at the revamped Oberoi Hotel here.
“He would be attending an event in Delhi. In 2014, when he came to India, he said he wished to try more of Indian cuisine and we plan to do that. Other than meeting home buyers and people from the real estate sector, he would also meet a few ministers and possibly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, though, we cannot confirm that,” said a source associated with the event.
M3M India and Tribeca, jointly working on this project, have reported sales bookings of about Rs 4.5 billion within the first 25 days of soft launch. The project has sold over two residences a day since the launch, with an average price of Rs 75 million. Trump Tower Kolkata, launched in late 2017, received sales bookings for 70 per cent of its residences in two months.
The schedule covers a wide list of activities. “This trip is a celebration of all we have achieved, including launch of the Trump developments in Kolkata and Delhi which have been underway for many months,” Trump said.
Sources said while Trump Jr would be meeting Modi at a gala dinner in the city, there might be a separate meeting with the PM as well, where Trump Jr would be elaborating on his companies; India expansion and investment plans.
He would also meet buyers of properties during his visit to other cities.
