Most people have returned to office for work in some of India's largest states. Workplace visits are between 80% and 95% of pre-pandemic levels, shows an analysis of Google mobility data.
The analysis looks at workplace visits in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, and Gujarat. Google tracks people visits to various categories of places, including recreational spots, transit stations, such as subways, and workplaces. Each of them shows a varying degree of normalcy, depending on factors such as fresh covid cases, nature of the state’s economy, and the stance of individual state governments.
