Western companies must change their mindset if they want to gain a foothold in the booming Indian market, beginning with the establishment of centres in the country itself, Kapil Sibal, Union minister for communications and information technology said. Pointing out that India was home to a middle class of 300 million people, Sibal said, "If you want to solve the problem, you have to be where the problem is. You can't solve it by looking at technology from 3,000 km away." Israeli companies that succeed in providing a solution for India open a gateway to the entire world, Sibal said.
