Yogi govt starts 10-day trial run of Modicare across all UP districts

Ahead of the proposed pan-India launch of Ayushman Bharat scheme popularly dubbed as Modicare, the Yogi Adityanath government today started the trial run of the universal medical cover scheme.

UP health minister Sidharth Nath Singh today formally launched the trial run from the government-owned Balrampur Hospital here. The trials would continue till September 13 in all the districts of the state before the scheme is launched nationwide on September 25.

Meanwhile, UP cabinet today gave its nod to run Modicare as an ‘assurance’ rather than an ‘insurance’
