Kerala records 74.04% polling

Kerala recorded 74.04 per cent polling, the state's highest ever voter turnout in Parliament elections, according to the official estimates of the State Chief Electoral officer.

Vadakara constituency in the Malabar region recorded the highest polling of 81.61 per cent, followed by Kannur with 81.32 per cent.

The lowest voter turnout was in Pathanamthitta constituency, where 66.01 per cent of the voters cast their votes.

In Thiruvananthapuram, 68.69 per cent and in Attingal, 68.77 per cent polling was recorded.

Polling in other Lok Sabha segments were, Kasargode (78.49 per cent), Wynad (73.28 per cent), Kozhikode (79.80 per cent), Malappuram (71.27 per cent), Ponnani (73.83 per cent), Palakkad (75.39 per cent), Alathur (76.45 per cent), Thrissur (72.15 per cent), Chalakkudi (76.94 per cent), Ernakulam (73.56 per cent), Idukki (70.66 per cent), Kottayam (71.70 per cent), Alappuzha (78.78 per cent), Mavelikkara (71.35 per cent) and Kollam with 72.12 per cent.
