Central Bank Q1 net dips 39%
State-run Central Bank of India today announced a decline in its net profit at Rs 59.32 crore for the quarter ended June 30, a 39.6 per cent decrease over the corresponding period a year ago.
The bank had a net profit of Rs 98.35 crore in Q1 of FY’08, Central Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The total income rose 37.27 per cent to Rs 2,572.53 crore in the June quarter, from Rs 1,874.02 crore in the year-ago period.
Yes Bank profit up 51% to Rs 54 cr
Private sector lender Yes Bank posted a healthy 50.9 per cent net profit growth in Q1 FY09 despite a fall in its non-interest income (NII), which declined by 7.7 per cent to Rs 71.5 crore during the quarter from Rs 77.5 crore in the year-ago period.

The net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 54.33 crore as against Rs 36 crore in the year-ago period.
Federal Bank net flat at Rs 68 cr
Federal Bank has posted 1.81 per cent increase in net profit for the first quarter ended June 2008 at Rs 68.15 crore. The operating profit rose by 34.55 per cent to Rs 253.52 crore, according to a bank’s release. The total income during the quarter increased by 27.53 per cent from Rs 659.70 crore to Rs 841.33 crore.
