Goldman Sachs has taken a huge lead in the equity capital market league table for 2015. The US-based investment bank cornered 23 per cent market share, helping Indian companies raise $4.25 billion through six deals, data provided by Thomson Reuters show. So far this year, Goldman Sachs has managed big-ticket deals, including Daiichi Sankyo's $3.2 billion worth stake sale in Sun Pharma. Also, HDFC Bank's $1.6-billion equity raising through part-qualified institutional placement and part-American depository receipts in February. In the first nine months of 2014, Goldman Sachs ranked 3rd with six deals worth $615 million under its bag. Citi is ranked second with 8.4 per cent market share and Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BoA ML) is ranked third in the equity capital market (ECM) league table for 2015. In terms of fees, however, Kotak Mahindra Bank has collected the highest ECM fees at $12.8 million followed by BoA ML at $12.5 million, while Goldman Sachs ranks fourth with $10.6 million.
