KEC Int'l rallies 9% on Rs 1,253-cr fresh orders

KEC International has rallied 9% to Rs 39.70 after the company said that it has secured new orders worth of Rs 1,253 crore.

“Of this Rs 723 crore orders in the transmission business, Rs 253 crore orders are in power systems for substation works, Rs 123 crore orders in the water business, Rs 105 crore orders in the cable business and the remaining Rs 49 crore in the telecom business," the company engaged in infrastructure engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business said in a filing to the stock exchanges.

With this fresh order flow the total order book position of the company stands at Rs 9,000 crore, it added.
 
The stock opened at Rs 37.20 and hit a high of Rs 40.25 on the National Stock Exchange. A combined 431,214 shares have changed hands on the counter so far, as against an average around 150,000 shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
