Market firm; NTPC surges 6%

The Sensex is displaying firm trend, and is now up 555 points at 15,039.

Reliance Infrastructure has zoomed 7% to Rs 1,088, and ICICI Bank has soared 6.7% to Rs 733.

NTPC has surged over 6% to Rs 184. BHEL, Larsen & Toubro and Grasim have rallied around 5.5% each to Rs 1,828, Rs 2,762 and Rs 2,060, respectively.

HDFC and HDFC Bank have gained 5% each at Rs 2,395 and Rs 1,310, respectively.

Tata Power and Jaiprakash Associates have advanced around 4.5% each to Rs 1,131 and Rs 175, respectively.

SBI and DLF have moved up over 4% each to Rs 1,583 and Rs 515, respectively.

 

Wipro, Satyam and Reliance Communications have added 3.7% each to Rs 442, Rs 431 and Rs 408, respectively.

ITC and ACC are up 3.5% each at Rs 196 and Rs 605, respectively.
