Speculators offloaded positions partially driven by weak demand in the spot market

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices fell by 1.09% to Rs 892 per kg in futures market today as speculators offloaded positions partially, driven by weak demand in the spot market.

Further, higher supplies in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also kept pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil prices for delivery in July fell by Rs 9.80, or 1.09%, to Rs 892 per kg in business turnover of 536 lots.

In a similar fashion, the oil prices for delivery in August traded lower by Rs 9.70, or 1.06%, to Rs 904 per kg in 397 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed their positions, driven by a weak demand in the spot market against higher supplies following increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh mainly pulled down mentha oil prices at futures trade.
