Crude oil up 0.3% on firm overseas cues

Crude oil futures prices today rose by 0.35% to Rs 6,389 per barrel as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firming trend in the Asian region.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil prices for delivery in August traded Rs 22, or 0.35% higher at Rs 6,389 per barrel, with a business turnover of 2,229 lots.
The crude oil prices for September also up by Rs 17, or 0.27%, to Rs 6,338 per barrel, with a business volume of 263 lots.
Market analysts said the rise in crude oil futures attributed to a firming trend in Asian trade on robust US crude demand.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude prices for September delivery gained 22 cents to $107.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
