Sensex up over 300pts; banking stocks lead

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 231 points at 14,279. The index touched a high of 14,379, and is now up 314 points at 14,362.
ICICI Bank has soared 5% to Rs 665. HDFC Bank has surged nearly 4% to Rs 1,262, and SBI have rallied 3.5% to Rs 1,355. HDFC has added 2.7% to Rs 2,309.
Reliance Infrastructure has gained 3.4% at Rs 967. Jaipakash Associates and DLF have advanced nearly 3% each to Rs 161 and Rs 481, respectively.
Tata Steel, Reliance Communications and Larsen & Toubro have moved up around 2.5% each to Rs 586, Rs 394 and Rs 2,558, respectively.
BHEL and Sterlite are up 1.8% each at Rs 1,659 and Rs 619, respectively.
