CBI arrests BJD MLA in Seashore Chitfund scam case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLA Prabhat Biswal in connection with the Seashore Chitfund scam case.

The Choudwar-Cuttack legislator was arrested by the probe agency on Monday night.

Earlier in November last year, the MLA and his wife were interrogated by the CBI in connection with a illegal land deal with the Seashore Group.

The Seashore Group, a ponzi company in Odisha, came under the CBI and the ED radar after the Supreme Court passed an order to probe their finances and transactions.
