Home minister Rajnath Singh today said that a draft cabinet note is ready on police modernisation and asserted that central assistance for better infrastructural facilities at police stations and strengthening of state government training institutions is provided to state police through the modernisation scheme
Replying to another supplementary in the Lok Sabha, minister of state for home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary said 109 central police personnel committed suicide in 2015.
He said that in most of the cases domestic and personal problems were the causes for suicide.
He added that the central government has been advising the state governments to improve the working conditions of their police personnel by undertaking necessary welfare measures.
