American golfer Kevin Stadler has won the first PGA title of his career at the Phoenix Open on Sunday with a three-under 68.
Son of 1982 Masters champion Craig Stadler, the junior Stadler won by a stroke over fellow American Bubba Watson, who missed a five-foot putt on the last to force a play-off, and Canadian Graham DeLaet.
According to the BBC, the win is Stadler's first in 239 PGA Tour starts, and earned him a place at Augusta this year, adding that the Stadlers are the ninth father-son winners in Tour history.
Meanwhile, the report mentioned that Scot Martin Laird was the best-placed European, finishing nine shots adrift while former Masters champion Watson, who had a two-shot lead going into the final day, had his worst round of the week, carding a level-par 71.
American Hunter Mahan and Japan's Hideki Matsuyama finished in a tie for fourth, one shot further back, the report added.
