The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly fined 5000 dollars each to five of its cricketers for participating in an unauthorised Twenty20 tournament in the United States.

Last month, the PCB formed a three-member committee to investigate players' participation in the tournament.

According to The Dawn, the PCB said that fast bowler Wahab Riaz, all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, middle order batsman Fawad Alam and opening batsmen Nasir Jamshed and Shahzeb Hasan all were fined 500,000 rupees for competing in last month's Friendship Cup T20 tournament in Houston.

The report mentioned that the players, among whom Riaz, Alam and Jamshed are participating in the 40-member training camp in Lahore, admitted their participation in the Houston event although they insisted that they were not aware that a prior approval of the PCB was required, according to ICC regulations.

Legspinner Danish Kaneria, who is serving a life ban, also competed in the tournament and the PCB has referred his case to its integrity committee for further action, the report added.
