Rahul Gandhi suffering from 'Modi phobia', says BJP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi must do his homework first before continuing his unwarranted and baseless attacks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP spokesperson Shrikant Sharma said that Gandhi is not able todigest the Congress' defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

"He is doing a politics of mere lies. I would like to ask honourable Rahul Gandhi as to who made the promises, how many promises were made and how many promises got fulfilled. You (Congress) looted the nation in the last 60 years, Even in Delhi there was a Congress government headed by Sheila Dikshit for 15 years, and now they are raising those issues which have been given birth by them," said Sharma.

"We (the BJP) are looking for solutions. So, Rahul Gandhi must do his homework first; the issues which he is raising has been given birth by his party," he added.

Sharma further said neither the former Congress regime led by Sheila Dikshit fulfilled the demands of the MCD workers nor is the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP Government doing it.

"The state government must fulfil the demands of MCD workers. These demands were neither met by Shiela ji's government nor is Kejriwal's government fulfilling their demands. So, if Rahul does his homework it will be beneficial for him," said Sharma.

"He is every time dragging Modi ji and only giving statements due to 'Modi phobia'. The allegations are not true. He must do some self-introspection and must do his homework, it will be much better then," he added.

The Congress vice-president had earlier criticized Prime Minister Modi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for making false promises of promoting development.

Addressing the 'Aakroash March' of the Valmiki Samaj at the Jantar Mantar here, Gandhi assured the sanitation workers that he would fight for their rights.
