Kerala Governor Sheila Dikshit, who met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at the North Block here on Monday, denied reports about resigning from her post and termed them to be speculation.

"Let them be speculations till any truth comes out," Dikshit told mediapersons here.

"I always call on the President. It is my duty to call on him," she added when asked about her expected meeting with President Pranab Mukherjee later in the day.

According to sources, Dikshit may tender her resignation as the Kerala Governor when she calls on the President today.

Dikshit was appointed the Kerala Governor by the former UPA regime after she led the Congress to a humiliating defeat in the Delhi assembly polls.

The Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre has in the last few months replaced the Governors in several states.

The Centre had earlier removed Mizoram Governor Kamla Beniwal, who had also served in Gujarat.

Earlier on Sunday, Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan resigned after he was transferred to Mizoram for the remainder of his term till 2017.
