Specially-abled children hit the dance floor on Tuesday as they participated in the traditional Dandiya dance performed in honour of Goddess Durga during 'Navratri'.
Navratri Festival is known for its privileged society and high profile celebrations with the affluent class visiting exclusive clubs for the celebrations.
However, this year, the festival also brought immense joy for children with special needs who were allowed to participate in the fun.
Organiser of the event, Vaishali Rajesh Kotecha, said such an event will help erase discrimination against these children in society.
"We believe in high-profile. Today, I thought about these children. I want you to think about them from tomorrow and give a new way of thinking to the society. Little smile on their faces can make huge difference. These kids hardly have anyone in their lives who think and care about them. In order to bring these kids into limelight, I organised this event," said Kotecha.
A specially abled girl, Dhara, said they had a gala time at the event as they got the opportunity to celebrate Navratri along with others this year.
"We used to celebrate Navratri in school. But this year, we have come outside. We loved it. We met new people and it was a good experience," said Dhara.
