The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) leaders did not attend an all-party meeting called by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister had called the all-party meeting to find a negotiated settlement of all the contemporary, as well as constitutional issues, reports The Himalayan Times.

Tarai Madhes Democratic Party (TMDP) Chairman Mahantha Thakur said that they did not attend the meeting as the government was not seen serious towards addressing the demands raised by the UDMF.

Thakur said that they will hold the meeting within few days to decide whether to sit for talks or not.

Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal (FSF-N) Chairman Upendra Yadav had said that the agitating forces would not sit for talks with the government until the latter addressed their demands.

Their demands include rewriting of the recently promulgated constitution and release of cadres and leaders arrested across the Tarai.
