Auto shares gain

Auto stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Auto index rising 189.29 points or 1.18% at 16289.6 at 09:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Auto index, Tata Motors Ltd (up 3.08%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (up 1.69%),Bajaj Auto Ltd (up 1.54%),Exide Industries Ltd (up 1.38%),TVS Motor Company Ltd (up 1.35%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hero MotoCorp Ltd (up 1.25%), Eicher Motors Ltd (up 1.1%), Bosch Ltd (up 1.09%), Balkrishna Industries Ltd (up 1.06%), and Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (up 1.06%).

On the other hand, Ashok Leyland Ltd (down 2.23%), moved lower.

 

At 09:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 136.95 or 0.37% at 37282.4.

The Nifty 50 index was up 30.2 points or 0.27% at 11033.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 84.82 points or 0.67% at 12794.78.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 23.03 points or 0.54% at 4302.42.

On BSE,913 shares were trading in green, 302 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
