Healthcare shares gain

Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 61.82 points or 0.53% at 11690.6 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Unichem Laboratories Ltd (up 9.99%), Abbott India Ltd (up 8.76%),Opto Circuits (India) Ltd (up 4.55%),Panacea Biotec Ltd (up 3.17%),ERIS Lifesciences Ltd (up 2.98%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Ipca Laboratories Ltd (up 2.98%), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 2.87%), Cipla Ltd (up 2.75%), Dr Lal Pathlabs Ltd (up 2.73%), and Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 2.55%).

On the other hand, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (down 5.41%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (down 5.15%), and Morepen Laboratories Ltd (down 4.64%) moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 604.34 or 2.03% at 29211.25.

The Nifty 50 index was down 158.9 points or 1.83% at 8501.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 126.53 points or 1.33% at 9370.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 60.2 points or 1.76% at 3359.26.

On BSE,461 shares were trading in green, 934 were trading in red and 91 were unchanged.
