FMCG stocks edge higher

FMCG stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 17.61 points or 0.18% at 9650.26 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, EID Parry (India) Ltd (up 13.11%), KRBL Ltd (up 9.98%),Globus Spirits Ltd (up 9.95%),G M Breweries Ltd (up 8.92%),Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd (up 8.56%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (up 6.33%), Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd (up 5.91%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd (up 5%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd (up 4.99%), and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd (up 4.97%).

On the other hand, Emami Ltd (down 6.43%), Future Consumer Ltd (down 4.9%), and Agro Tech Foods Ltd (down 4.51%) turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 604.34 or 2.03% at 29211.25.

The Nifty 50 index was down 158.9 points or 1.83% at 8501.35.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 126.53 points or 1.33% at 9370.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 60.2 points or 1.76% at 3359.26.

On BSE,461 shares were trading in green, 934 were trading in red and 91 were unchanged.
