India' Merchandise Exports Contract For Third Month

India's merchandise exports fell by 1.1% in October, contracting for the third consecutive month, while imports fell for the fifth month in a row by 16.3%, leading to a trade deficit of $11 billion, according to commerce ministry figures released on Friday. India's overall exports (Merchandise and Services combined) in April-October 2019-20 are estimated to be $310.23 billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 1.51% over the same period last year. Overall imports in April-October 2019-20 are estimated to be $359.68 billion, exhibiting a negative growth of 4.61% over the same period last year.
