Nifty December 2016 futures at premium

Turnover on NSE's F&O segment rises

The Nifty December 2016 futures traded at 8,108, a premium of 25.60 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8,082.40 in the cash market. The January 2017 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8,142.80, a premium of 60.40 points compared with the Nifty's closing in the cash market. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment rose to Rs 3.46 lakh crore from Rs 2.08 lakh crore registered yesterday, 19 December 2016.

In the cash market, the Nifty fell 21.95 points or 0.27% to settle at 8,082.40, its lowest closing level since 24 November 2016.

 

Bharat Financial Inclusion, State Bank of India (SBI), Vedanta, Yes Bank and Aurobindo Pharma were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. Bharat Financial Inclusion December 2016 futures traded at 588, at a premium over spot closing of 586. SBI December 2016 futures traded at 255.75, near spot closing of 255.05. Vedanta December 2016 futures traded at 226, near spot closing of 225.40.

Yes Bank December 2016 futures traded at 1151, at a premium over spot closing of 1147. Aurobindo Pharma December 2016 futures traded at 675.50, at a premium compared with spot closing of 673.25.

The December 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 29 December 2016.
