Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index gains 2.15%

Nifty Auto index ended up 2.15% at 7161.5 today. The index has slipped 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Eicher Motors Ltd rose 4.56%, Hero MotoCorp Ltd gained 3.39% and TVS Motor Company Ltd added 3.31%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 34.00% over last one year compared to the 1.05% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.24% and Nifty PSU Bank index increased 1.13% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.29% to close at 11284.3 while the SENSEX increased 0.14% to close at 37882.79 today.
