Sectoral indices on NSE slump

The Nifty Metal index (down 5.8%), the Nifty Media index (down 4.78%), the Nifty IT index (down 3.79%), the Nifty Realty index (down 3.69%), the Nifty Auto index (down 3.29%), the Nifty Financial Service index (down 3%), the Nifty Bank index (down 2.8%), the Nifty FMCG index (down 2.17%) and the Nifty Pharma index (down 1.79%) declined.

Investors dumped equities in favor of safer assets as anxiety over the spread and potential impact of the virulent coronavirus.
