Algerian army have stepped up vigillance along the borderline with Libya over reports of potential terror attacks, a security source revealed Tuesday.

The source specified that both Algerian and Tunisian armies have been boosting control on shared border with Libya, following reports over the existence of potential suicide attacks being plotted by Islamic State(IS) linked groups in Libya that would target the troops deployed along the border, Xinhua reported.

The source added that Algerian and Tunisian armies have began fortifying posts on the border by building sand berms and ditches to thwart any potential attack.

Algeria has deployed some 50,000 troops along its 1,000 km borderline with Libya to thwart the infiltration of arms and armed groups linked to Al Qaeda.
