A case of criminal intimidation was registered after Delhi BJP leader Vijender Gupta claimed to have received threat calls on the mobile phone of his personal secretary, Ashish Katyal.

In his complaint to police, Katyal mentioned that he received a call on his mobile phone on the evening of July 10. The caller claimed that earlier Gupta had escaped twice, but he won't be able to escape the next time even if he enhances his security.

A case under section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Prashant Vihar police station in west Delhi, a police officer told IANS.

An officer said, "Investigation is going on, and we are checking the CDR and location details of the mobile phone."

Gupta, a Bharatiya Janata Party legislator from Rohini in west Delhi, is also the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi assembly.
