President of Spain's Catalonia autonomous community Artur Mas Wednesday said he has not changed his mind about the region's independence referendum despite the Spanish Constitutional Court declaring it unconstitutional.
The court declared Catalonia's proposed referendum invalid following an appeal by the Spanish government.
In a counter move, the Catalan government launched an information campaign last weekend to gauge public opinion over the vote being ruled unconstitutional.
Addressing the Catalan Regional Parliament, Mas said he was determined to go ahead with the referendum in a peaceful manner.
Catalonia plans to hold an independence referendum Nov 9, a move strongly opposed by Madrid.
