The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) might move the Delhi High Court against the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, informed sources said Tuesday.
"We will wait for the court's judgment on the quantum of sentence for those found guilty in the case. Then we will decide," a CBI source told IANS.
A Delhi court April 30 acquitted Sajjan Kumar in the case.
District Judge J.R. Aryan convicted the other five accused in the case, related to the killing of five people in the Delhi Cantonment area during violence against Sikhs following the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi on Oct 31, 1984.
The acquittal of Sajjan Kumar had evoked widespread protests from the Sikh community.
