European Council President Donald Tusk on Wednesday said leaders of the 27 EU countries have agreed that they would not grant Britain access to the block's single market if the UK did not accept EU's rules on free movement of people.

"Leaders made it crystal clear today (Wednesday) that access to the single market requires acceptance of all four freedoms including freedom of movement," Xinhua news agency quoted Tusk as saying after the conclusion of a two-day summit of EU countries' leaders.

Tusk's remarks were echoed by European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

"Those wanting access to our single market must implement the four freedoms without exceptions and without nuances," Juncker said.
