President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday visited Sir Ganga Ram Hospital here to pay his last respects to one of his close friends who died at the hospital.
According to the hospital authorities, Kovind reached the hospital around 12 p.m.
"He (Kovind) came to pay tributes to his close friend Anant Prakash Bhargava who was suffering from cardiac and kidney related ailments. He died today around 8.20 a.m.," said a senior doctor from the hospital.
Sources said that Bhargava was known to Kovind for the last couple of decades.
